1860, she and her children: Chrysostom, age 19; Rachel, age 18; Henry, age 16; Robert, age 12; Mary, age 10; Josephine, age 8; Millie, age 6, and John, age 4, are in the household of her brother-in-law, Chrysostom Sullivan in San Patricio (Note from files of Arline Sullivan Byrd: This is incorrect information supplied by Census taker. Eliza was the land/homeowner. Brother-in-law, Chrys, helped Eliza maintain their property after the death of her husband and his brother, John. Eliza ran a stagecoach stop where passengers were fed and boarded. She was quite successful.)

1880, she is a boarding house keeper in San Patricio, age 63.

Eliza Schamp Sullivan
At the home of her daughter, in Beeville, TX, Mrs. Eliza Sullivan, of San Patricio, TX. died, at the advanced age of sixty-five years. When she died she was on a visit to her daughter.
She died a Catholic, the sacrament having been administered. Mass was said by Fr. Smith, of Gretna, yesterday, and a dead Mass will be said on Monday next for the repose of the soul of the late Mrs. Sullivan, who was well known and highly esteemed in Texas for her charitable traits.
