On 14 MAR 2020, Jane HILL, Contributor #47883914, reports that he was born on 20 DEC 1884, that his middle name was actually Vance instead of Van(n), and that his nickname was "JV." The only 2 sources I have seen that specify his middle name show Van or Vann.

On 23 JAN 2022, RuskFirm (Contributor #46808412) submitted suggested edits to link this memorial to #70755380 as father and #70755316 as mother, and also add "Jr." to his name. [According to a newspaper obituary, Julius V. RICHARDS who died 1951 in Akron, OH,and is buried at Greenwood Cemetery in Montgomery, AL, was survived by a son J. V. RICHARDS, Jr., of Georgia, but I have yet to place this man (1884-1954) with those parents on a census or find other direct documentary confirmation that he is their son. - jml]
