Earl is survived by his wife of 69 years, Rebecca J. Marsh (Scott), six children, Linda J. Hungate (Marsh) and her husband, Bill, Thomas E. Marsh and his wife Christine, Nancy J. Flynn (Marsh), Marlene L. Warren (Marsh) and her husband Art, Laurie A. McCurdy (Marsh) and her husband, Mark, and Elaine Wood (Marsh); 15 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren; a sister, Jean R. Grottola; and a brother, Jack B. Marsh. He is preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
Earl served proudly in the US Navy during WWII. He was stationed onboard the USS Vulcan in the Philippine Islands and worked as a Metalsmith 3rd Class. He was awarded the American Theater Ribbon Victory Medal for his service.
Earl retired from the Bethlehem Steel Railroad in 1989. He loved fishing and hunting, singing hymns and spending time with his family. He was active in his church and made three missionary trips to build churches in Nicaragua and Russia. His strong Christian faith and values were unwavering and passed down through three generations.
The family would like to thank the Hospice of Central PA for their assistance, kindness and especially for their care of our father.
At our father's request there will be a private burial at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery for immediate family. He will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.
