Beverly graduated from Swayzee High School in 1953 and Indiana University in 1955.
On May 31, 1958 she married Oscar Hopkins in Swayzee and he survives.
Beverly thoroughly enjoyed her work as a Dental Hygienist for 49 years, retiring in 2004, and she took great pleasure in getting to know her patients.
She was a an active member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church, having started both a Sunday School Class and a Koinonia group that are both still continuing 25 years later. She hosted many foreign students and parents of foreign students in her home, and five students have lived at the Hopkins residence.
Beverly loved people and always focused on their best. She was a wonderful hostess and excelled at making others feel welcome in her presence.
Surviving along with her husband are her children Carol (Chris) Ishida of Kansas City, KS; Karen (Jan) Cover of West Lafayette; John (Cindy) Hopkins of Auburn, AL; grandchildren Evan Ishida, Taylor (Hopkins) Webster, Erin Ishida, James Cover and a great grandson Hudson Ishida. Also surviving is her sister Judy (Henry) Canclini of Diamond Springs, CA.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at St. Andrew United Methodist Church in West Lafayette.
