LOUDONVILLE: DEBRA J. "DEBI" WARD, 62, Loudonville, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2017 at home following a three-year battle with cancer.

She was born August 10, 1954, to Del Oliver and Patricia Ferrell in Dayton. Debi was a 1972 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School. Following graduation, she embarked on a 32-year career working in various federal and state agencies. Most noteworthy were 30 years at the Department of Youth Services, Mohican Juvenile Correctional Facility in Loudonville and seven years at the Bureau of Workers Compensation in Mansfield. She felt honored to work at both agencies and with so many hard-working, dedicated people.

Debi is survived by her husband of 44 years, Dave Ward, Loudonville and son, Ben Ward of Columbus. In addition, she is survived by her sister, Lou Ann McGrath of Columbus; mother-in-law, Louise Ward of Loudonville; aunt, Susan McMahon of Fredericktown; aunt, Charlotte Lyden of Corona, California; sister-in-law, Cathy (Bruce) Purdy of Ashland; brother-in-law, Phil (Becky) Ward of Florida; six nephews and one niece.

Both parents preceded her in death, as well as her brother, Ray Oliver, step-mother, Dee Oliver, father-in-law, Bud Ward and uncle, Jim McMahon. The love and support of both her family and friends made a difficult journey easier to bear.

Friends are invited to join the family for visitation from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at LINDSEY FUNERAL HOME, Loudonville, followed by a memorial service at 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2017 officiated by Pastor Scott Henderson. A private graveside burial at Loudonville Cemetery will occur at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts be made to the Zion Lutheran Church Youth Group or Hospice of North Central Ohio.
