Jeffrey Lynn Goodwin, 72, of Mahomet passed away at 11:12 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Champaign-Urbana Nursing and Rehab in Savoy.

A private graveside service will be held at Danville National Cemetery in Danville.

Jeff was born in North Platte, Nebraska on February 13, 1945 to parents Ned and Marlea (Hock) Goodwin. Ned preceded him in death. His sister, Marlea Robb also preceded him in death.

He is survived by his mother, Marlea Turgeon of Skokie, IL: his daughters; Heather Goodwin of Reelsville, IN, Gretchen Goodwin of Colorado Springs, CO, and Amy Fenn (Eric) of Wheaton, IL. His sister Pam Gavin (Kelly) of Lodi, WI and three grandchildren also survive him.

Jeff earned his Bachelor of Science at Southern Illinois University and worked as a Sales Representative for the Kimberly-Clark Corporation for twenty- five years.

Jeff served in the 1st Calvary Division during the Vietnam War as a combat medic, where he earned several medals for his battlefield valor, including the Bronze Star.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
