Meredith Dale "Andy" Anderson, 92, of Lichfield, Ill., formerly of Troy, Ill., born May 5, 1924 in East St. Louis, Ill., passed away Thursday April 27, 2017 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Highland, Ill.

Andy served his country in the United States Navy during WW II and was a member of American Legion Post 436 Litchfield, Ill. He retired from Union Electric in 1985 after 35 years of service. Andy graduated from McCray Dewey High School, Troy and SIU Carbondale with an Engineering Degree. He served on the Troy City Council in the late 70's. In his life, Andy enjoyed traveling, dancing, listening to music, trout fishing and had a passion for collecting antique cameras. Andy was well known for his restoring of format camera bellows in the camera circuit.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice, nee Tiemann, Anderson; parents, Loren A. and Winifred, nee Norbury, Anderson; and sister, Sharon Kirkpatrick.

Surviving are his second wife, Norma (Lemons) Carney Anderson; children, Crystal (David) Ewing of Las Vegas, NV and Dean (Joni) Anderson of Highland, IL; stepson Douglas (Brenda Wolfe) Carney of Edwardsville, IL; grandchildren, David Ewing, Jeffrey (Alisha Johnson) Ewing, Stayce Ewing, Ashley (James) Miller and Dean Anderson Jr.; great-grandchildren, David Crisafi, Braden Ewing, Bryce Ewing, Daven Ewing and Sunny Raye Miller; great-great-grandchild Paxton Crisafi.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Richeson Funeral Home, of Troy, Ill., with Rev. Mitchel Schuessler officiating. Interment in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Troy, Ill.
