Mary Purser
October 26, 1917 ~ April 28, 2017 (age 99)

Mary Purser of Lakewood died peacefully in her sleep at Cambridge Care Center in Lakewood on April 28, 2017 at the extraordinary age of 99.

She is survived by her elder sister, Rose Zaph (101) of Longmont, her two children: Sandra & husband Mark of Chico, CA, and Robert & wife Marsha of Littleton, CO; as well as many cherished nieces and nephews.

She spent her youth as a farm girl in Ft. Lupton and Lakewood, but relished her years as a working gal at Great Western Sugar, Miller Western Wear, and on the planes at Lowry Air Force Base during WWII. She married the late Barney Purser in 1949 and they shared many happy years of travel adventures - from camping to cruises. She was very shy and quiet, but an astute people watcher. Clever with all needlework, her family treasures many of her beautiful creations.

Services will be at Carroll-Lewellen Funeral Home (503 Terry St., Longmont) on Monday, May 8th at 2:00 pm. Small reception will follow.
