ABELS, HAZEL PRISCILLA MARDANT, age 90, of Birmingham, formerly of Gadsden, AL and originally from Guntersville, has gone to be with the Lord.

She was a member of Cornerstone Church, former owner of Hammond Big Save Grocery. She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary.

She is preceded in death by her first husband Charles Leroy Stephens, second husband Pritchard (Pete) Hammond and her brother, Edward Mardant.

She is survived by her husband Joe Abels, son Kenneth Stephen, Sr., (Joyce), stepdaughter, Judy Black, grandchildren, Gina Taylor (Craig), Stephanie Tortorici, Kenneth Stephens, Jr. (Christina), Josh, Jacob, Rachel Black and 7 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5:30 - 8:00 PM at Ridout's Trussville Chapel on February 6, 2003 and funeral service will be Friday at 11 am with burial at Forrest Cemetery in Gadsden.
We love you and will miss you.
