Warren B. "Pete" Rogers, 82, passed away quietly at his home on May 19, 2014, after a brief illness. Pete was married to Olivia Jackson Rogers for 62 years and raised five children together. He earned his degree in Engineering and Physics from Clemson University and worked for Dupont for most of his career before retiring and becoming a consultant. Pete, wife Olivia and daughter Nancy moved to Lake Wylie from Charlotte in 1995 where they became active members of River Hills Church and, most recently, Journey Church. Pete was a man devoted to caring for his family, especially his daughter Nancy and her unique needs. He was a supporter of Camp Joy, a camp for special needs adults in Flat Rock, N.C., for over 30 years. He was happiest when surrounded by his children and grandchildren and considered his life a success, not because of his education and job accomplishments but because of how proud he was of his children and grandchildren and the values he instilled in them. He is survived by his devoted wife, Olivia, and daughter, Nancy of Lake Wylie.

He is also survived by son, Warren B. "Ren" Rogers III and his wife, Linda of Moodus, Conn. Son, Jeff and his wife, Cathy live in Asheville, N.C., along with their children, Bennett and wife, Stephanye Rogers and Emily and Eric Freeman and their sons, Caleb and Adam. He is also survived by David Rogers of Lake Wylie and his wife, Chrys and David's children and their spouses, Jessica and Victor Garces, Jennifer Rogers and her new baby, Sophia and son, Bryson Rogers. His daughter, Elizabeth and her husband, Alan Hartley and their three children, Abigail, Jackson and Nathaniel have loved living next door to them for many years and will miss him daily. Pete leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion and integrity that will forever make the world a better place because he was here.
