A Celebration of Josh’s Life will be from 6-7 p.m. Thursday May 4th at the Elias Funeral Home with a service to be held at 7 p.m. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery.
Born September 24, 1976 in Great Lakes, IL, he was the son of Dan and Debra (Skaaren) Austin.
He is survived by his son Barrett Michael Lee Austin of Lacon, IL, father Dan (LeAnn) Austin of Streator, mother Debra Austin of DeKalb, brother Nathaniel Austin of Streator several aunts and uncles, nephews Carter Austin, Dalton Austin-Taylor and close friend Lindsay Petersen.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Clifford and Carole Skaaren, paternal grandparents Lee and Marion Austin, uncles Dana and Larry Austin and aunt Cheryl Skaaren.
Josh attended Streator Township High School, he was a heavy equipment operator for the Local 150 Operating Engineers.
He loved to fish and was a member of Sandy Ford Sportsman Club and Lazy Acres.
Memorials may be directed to the family of Josh Austin or the Dusty Rhodes Foundation.
