Lawrence A. Griffin, 89, of Plainville, passed peacefully on April 9, 2017 in Sturdy Memorial Hospital, Attleboro. He was the beloved husband of Jeannette M. (Couture) Griffin.
Born in Lowell, MA on December 12, 1927, he was a son of the late Richard and Margaret (Halfpenny) Griffin. Lawrence worked as an LPN in several Massachusetts State Hospitals for over 40 years prior to retirement. He served his country proudly as a member of the US Navy. He was a dedicated family man who loved spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed spending winters in Ft. Myers Beach, Florida and visiting Old Orchard Beach in summer.
In addition to his wife Jeannette, Lawrence is survived by a son; Dennis P. Griffin and his wife Rosemary of North Hampton, and a daughter; Margaret Guillet and her husband Richard of Bellingham. Also survived by ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was the father of the late Charles Griffin.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on in the RJ Ross Funeral Home, 135 South Street, Wrentham. A funeral Mass will follow in St. Martha’s Church, South Street, Plainville. Burial in St. Jean the Baptist Cemetery, Bellingham MA.
