Mrs. Amelia Lock died at 6 o'clock Thursday night at her home, 1221 Hampshire street, after an illness of five days. Mrs. Lock, nee Pracht, was born November 13, 1848 on board ship near Cuba when her parents were on their way to New Orleans from their home in Muellhausen, Germany. When a small child she came to Quincy and had made her home here since. She was a widow of John Lock, who died seven years ago. She was a member of the Salem Evangelical church and a member of the Ladies' Aid society of that church. She is survived by two daughters, Miss Anna Lock, who lives at home, and Mrs. Howard Wheeler; two sons, John H. and August J. Lock, of Quincy; a sister, Mrs. Rickey Ames of Detroit, Mich., and several nieces and nephews.
