Phillip (Phil/Flip) Orville Warren of Scott Avenue, Findlay and Summerfield, Florida, age 82, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, April 24. Flip was born on February 19, 1935 to Harley and Lulu (Winkle) Warren of Leipsic. He graduated from Leipsic High School in 1953. Phil married A. Diane Hall on June 26, 1960 and she died on June 27, 1993. Phil then married A. Jean (Krout) Wells on July 2, 1994 and she died on March 30, 2006. In addition to Diane, Jean and his father and mother, Phil was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Warren. Phil is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, 3 step-sons and 5 step-grandchildren. Phil was a Patriot and loved this country. He served in the United States Army as a specialist from January 1955 through January 1957. He loved to talk about his service days! Before retiring to travel in 1995, Flip worked 42 years in construction. His employers included Hancock Redi-Mix, Darwin Hile, Miller Brothers and JDR. Phil had been an active member of the Gospel Fellowship Church of Rawson, OH. Phil enjoyed travelling, dogs, eating, and socializing. He never met a stranger. Flip could strike up a conversation with anyone about anything. His cellphone and computer kept him connected with relatives and friends across the country. While Phil was a terrific friend and neighbor, he was an even more awesome adopted Grandpa to Jayme, Jenna and JJ Reneau whose family had been his neighbor for 27 years. Grandpa Phil wasn’t just a neighbor; he was family. He will be greatly missed! Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 29, 2017 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay where the funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Dave Clark will officiate. Burial will follow in Knollcrest Cemetery, where the Hancock County Memorial Squad will perform full military rites. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Orion Cancer Center or Chopin Hall in Findlay, OH. Online condolences can be shared by visiting coldrencrates.com.
