Bobby was raised in Morton, Arkansas and graduated from McCrory High School. While attending McCrory High he loved playing football. After graduation, he married Shirley McNeeley. They made their home in Forrest City, Arkansas where he worked for a milk company. When they returned home to Morton they purchased the family business of Coley’s Grocery and ran it for many years. While operating Coley’s Grocery, Bobby also sold Hondas and was a substitute mail carrier, later he became a rural letter carrier and after 32 years retired from the McCrory Post Office. Bobby was a member of the Rotary Club and President of the Fair Association for many years. He was also a member of Morton Baptist Church. Bobby was very charismatic and made friends very easily. He loved playing cards, fishing, deer and duck hunting, boating, water skiing and some people would have considered him a pool shark.
Bobby was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, four brothers, Garland Coley, Arland Coley, Victor Coley, Jimmy Coley, wife, Shirley Coley and daughter, Janet Coley Spray.
He is survived by three sons, Gary Lynn Coley of Searcy, Arkansas, Timmy Lloyd Coley of Sikeston, Missouri, Christopher Glenn Coley of Colorado Springs, Texas, seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and other family and friends.
Visitation for Bobby will be 1 p.m. Saturday, April 29, 2017 with 2 p.m. funeral services following at the Thompson-Wilson McCrory Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Lyons, officiating. Interment will be in Pumpkin Bend Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Coley, Cody Coley, Michael Coley, Chad Moore, Brian Spray and Jason Coley. Honorary pallbearers will be Jackie Moore, J. A. Wampler, Charles Coley, Bob Zeyloth, Tommy Gaines, and Calvin (Cowboy) Carter.
