Edward Barker, was born in Swanton, Franklin Co., Vermont 12 Jan 1807 and died 16 July 1896, Stephenson, Co., Ill. He was married to Mary (Polly) Warner in 1835. They came to Illinois in 1842 by wagon and took a claim to land north of Davis, Illinois in Stephenson Co. He was Justice of the Peace and a kind, jolly, good man. His last years were spent on a farm 4 miles north of Pecatonica, Ill. where he lived some of the time alone. He broke his hip on July 11 1896 and suffered terribly for one or two weeks. Polly passed away 29 Jan 1879. Both are buried in the FeIts (Walnut Grove) cemetery. Their children are: Mary [same name as her mother?], a twin brother, Jay W., Scott T., Jerusha, Martha, Addison I., Wm. H. and Charles J.
