STARKSBORO, VT. - Linwood Shortsleeve Cunningham, age 84, of Starksboro and a former longtime resident of 1242 Shelburne Road in South Burlington, passed away on Monday afternoon, April 26th 1982 at the Memorial Hospital in Gulfport, Miss.

He had been visiting with relatives during the winter months.

He was born on October 27th 1897 In Burlington, Vt., he was the son of Fred Olin and Minnie L. (Shortsleeve) Cunningham.

Mr. Cunningham was a Veteran of World War I, serving with the U.S. Army, 23rd Infantry, Company E, and was awarded the Oak Leaf Cluster with Purple Heart for wounds received in action.

He married Mary "Parmelia" Blanche Parmelia Gauthier on January 22nd 1923 in Burlington, Vermont.

He was a self employed Builder during most of his working life.

He was a longtime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the World War I Indian Head Division.

Survivors include his wife; Parmelia (Gauthier) Cunningham of the Birchwood Healthcare Center in Burlington, Vt., a first cousin in the Burlington area; Mrs. Grace Church of Fern Hill on North Prospect Street in Burlington, Vt., and several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements by the Ready Funeral Home South Chapel on 261 Shelburne Road in Burlington, Vt.

Interment will follow at the Resurrection Park Cemetery in South Burlington, Vt. with full military honors accorded.
