Sally Lee (Knechtges) Taylor, 83, died at 4:10 p.m. on April 22, 2017, after battling both dementia and pulmonary fibrosis.

Sally was born in Detroit, Michigan on October 16, 1933 to Benedict Hiram Knechtges and Jean Marie (Laux). She was the eldest of three children; William (Bill) Knechtges and Robert (Bob) Knechtges. She met and married Thomas (Tom) Andrew Taylor. They settled in the home Tom and his father had built in Redford Township, Michigan. Sally took on the role of being a mother and homemaker.

After devoting most of her time and energy as a caregiver to her seven children, Sally pursued her interests with enthusiasm. She loved having lunch with her MacKenzie High School friends, she loved painting, drawing, doing needlework, traveling, and cooking. As a Certified Master Gardener, tending to her garden was her passion.

Sally was preceded in death by her parents, Hiram and Jean, her brothers, William and Robert, and her husband, Thomas. She is survived by her seven children: Kirk Taylor, Kristy Laur (Randy), Keith Taylor (Maryam), Kim Taylor-Papp (Larry), Robin Young (Patrick), Bill Taylor, and Jody Achor (Todd), and her 10 grandchildren: Shelby, Kyle, Kelsey, Taylor, Brendan, Jenna, Andrew, Eric, Ian, and Sydney.
