The Commonwealth, Greenwood, Miss. 2-5-1915:
DEATH OF MRS. T. BODDIE.
Mrs. T. Boddie died at her home Thursday morning, after a protracted illness with cancer, aged 59 years. The remains were buried in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Greenwood, Friday afternoon, Rev. J. E. Thomas, pastor of the M. E. Church of Itta Bena officiating. Mrs. Boddie was reared in Carroll County, a daughter of Pearson Money. The late Senator H. D. Money of Carrolton and Major Jim Money of Gulfport were brothers of hers. She married Thomas Boddie of Carroll County and later they went to reside on a plantation they owned in the northern part of this county. There her husband died. Later she moved with her family to Arkansas. Some five or six years ago she came with her two single daughters to Itta Bena and while here made many friends. About four years ago they went to make their home at Berclair where she continued to live until her death.
Mrs. Boddie is survived by four children, a son P. M. Boddie of Memphis, Tenn., and three daughters, Mrs. Claudie Stancill of Drew, Miss., and Misses Louise and Catherine who were still under the parental roof. Besides her immediate family, Mrs. Robt. Dunn, of Greenwood, formerly Mrs. James Money, Jr., was present in the hours of sorrow and bereavement. The sympathy of many friends goes out to those who have lost a devoted mother. --Itta Bena Times.
