Kathryn was born November 17, 1922, the daughter of Bert F. and Kate (Couch) Planz. She lived in Topeka all her life. Kathryn graduated from Topeka High School in 1940 and attended Strickler’s Topeka Business College. She was employed for the same company for almost 45 years. The company changed by merger three times, eventually becoming a part of Bank of America. Most of her service was with Bankers Investment Co. for 28 years. Kathryn was a long-time member of First Baptist Church, Topeka. She was a volunteer at the Kansas Museum of History for 15 years.
