Mr. Johnson was born and raised in Denair, and had lived in Turlock since 1935. He was a self-employed farmer for 50 years. He was a member of Evangelical Free Church. He enjoyed building and welding sculptures.
He is survived by his wife, Alveda Johnson; children, Alvin Johnson and Ronald Johnson; brothers, Clifford Johnson, Ray Johnson and Norman Johnson; and four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
A funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Allen Mortuary, with burial at Turlock Memorial Park. Visitation from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary.
