He was born in Paris, KY, to Floyd and Julia (Roberts) Montgomery.
Billy was a retired Bookeeper for Montgomery Plumbing with over 20 years service. He was a U.S. Navy Korean War Veteran and a Baptist by faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Billy J. Montgomery Jr.
Survivors include his four children, 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two brothers, and one sister.
"He was the Greatest rock skipper and the BEST DAD and G-PA!"
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy., with burial to follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.
