surrounded by his family. Ron lived to be 89 years old. Ron was born on July
26, 1927, to Beatrice and Gene Sollinger in Everson, WA. Ron's family moved to
Cashmere, WA, where he attended schools, and worked in the orchards, until he
enlisted in the Navy on January 7, 1944.
After getting out of the Navy, Ron met and married Geraldine "Jerry" Malone on
September 11, 1948, and spent 63 wonderful years together, until Jerry passed
away in 2012. They had four children: Chuck (Marianne), Dennis (deceased),
Vickie (Gary), and Sandy (Blake). They lived in Wenatchee, WA, raising their
children, until relocating to Friday Harbor, WA, in 1970, where they ran the
family business, Sollinger Floor Covering. Ron sold the family business, in
1990, so that he and Jerry could retire and move back to the Wenatchee area.
Ron was devoted to his family as a husband, father, grandfather, great-
grandfather, and also enjoyed spending time with his extended family and
friends. Ron enjoyed reading his western books, working on his woodworking
projects, and spending time with his friends.
Ron also leaves behind his grandchildren: Jenny (Scott), Kelly (Jennifer),
Angela (Justin), Jason, Steve (Alyson), Michael (Cassie), and Krista; along
with numerous great-grandchildren.
