BLUEFIELD Christopher Kaid Comer - On Thursday April 27th our beloved son and brother was called home after a courageous battle with diabetes. Christopher was born on a snowy Thursday, Dec 22 1960 to Jack and Jane (Whitehead) Comer.

Christopher had a full life that took many different paths. He graduated from Bramwell High School in 1979. In his years at Bramwell he made many wonderful friendships that lasted throughout his entire life, he loved his friends from BHS.

He attended Concord University and Bluefield State College studying his true passion, his music. Music took him to a different level, opening up doors with several bands, he loved being on stage. Christopher, being born into a very military strong family, served his country in the US Army for 6 years as a cook. He worked various jobs in the industry, but music always called him back. As great as his love of music was his love for the mountains of WV. He could easily be called a mountain man, WV was almost heaven to him. On any given day you could find him 4 wheeling with his friends or walking in the deep woods with his dogs.

Chris was proceeded in death by both sets of his grandparents, Edward and Eva Comer, Joseph Kincaid (Jack) and Ethel Whitehead. He was also proceeded in death by his father Jackie R. Comer, and his niece Meagan J. Honaker.

He is survived by his mother Jane S. Comer, sister Melissa (Nick) all of Lebanon VA. Nephews Joshua Honaker and children Kaylie, Kaleb, and Konnor and Jack (Kayla) Honaker and daughter Kennedy. Chris was blessed to have two special women in his life, Angie Hubbard and Bytha Bowers. He leaves behind many aunts, uncles, and cousins as well as many dear friends.

In keeping with his wishes there will be no services, his body will be cremated. His ashes will be scattered by his cousin and buddy, Richard Comer. He chose to have them scattered at Fort Pickett, in remembrance of his army days.

The family would like to thank all of the doctors and nurses at Mercer Nursing Home for being so kind and taking such good care of Chris. We appreciate you all so much.
Memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association in his name.
