1. Caroline Lithgow Downes-Hoy (1838 - She died in London England circa 1924). Veterans benefit payments from her husband's service in the Navy stopped in 1924.

Martha passed away on 23 March 1900 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, and she was laid to rest at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.
