Douglas (Doug) Paul Heverin passed away in the early morning hours, Wednesday 26 April 2017, at the Perry Point VA Hospital in Perryville, MD where he had been a permanent patient suffering a long-term illness. Doug was born on 31 March, 1959 in Wilmington, DE to parents James and June Heverin, as the second of three sons (James and Richard), and grew up in the family home in Claymont, DE.
Doug attended and graduated Claymont High School, was an active member of the Claymont Volunteer Fire Company and held a number of jobs in the Claymont, DE area. He later enlisted in the U.S. Navy, served on active naval vessels, and was discharged honorably. In 1984 Doug was married to the former Rose Himber of Chicago, IL. Doug is survived by his two children, Timothy and Melissa, and granddaughter Natalia, all of whom reside in Chicago, IL, and by his two brothers.
Friends are invited and encouraged to attend a visitation at 9:30am on Saturday April 29 , followed by a service at 10:30 am at the McCrery and Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike Wilmington, DE 19803. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Wilmington.
