He was born May 18, 1955, the son of John and Marie (Hammonds) Neal. He married Karen Robinson in Danville, IL on May 18, 2001. She survives.
He is survived by his son, Lucas (Nitasha) Neal of Bloomington, IL; one step-daughter Tammy Deaton of Westville, IL; one step-son David Deaton; two sisters, Ruth Beaty of Hoopeston, IL and Patsy Farley of Hoopeston, IL; five brothers, John Dee (Nancy) Neal of Chattanooga, TN, Billie Neal of Hoopeston, IL, George (Joan) Neal of Hoopeston, IL, Norman (Connie) Neal of Hoopeston, IL, and Donny (Marilyn) Neal of Hoopeston, IL; one granddaughter; four grandsons, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and Matthew Baker.
Gary worked at Joan of Arc, in Hoopeston, which later became Pillsbury, for 20 years. He later worked at Schumacher Electric Company. He liked watching the Chicago Bears. Gary enjoyed life and spending time with his son and grandkids.
