Donna Marie McBain Parduhn Hansen, 72, peacefully took up her permanent residence in heaven on April 22, 2017 after a courageous six month battle with cancer. She was born on June 25, 1944, the daughter of Virgil and Marian (Parkinson) McBain. She attended St. Mary's Catholic grade school and graduated from Richland Center High School in 1962. On July 20, 1963 she married Richard Parduhn and they remained together for 17 years. She received her Associate's Degree from UW - Richland and her Bachelor's of Education and Masters in Counseling from UW - Platteville. Donna taught middle school English in Seneca, WI and later was a guidance counselor in Hillsboro, WI and Wausau, WI. She retired in 2009, leaving a lasting impression on her students. Thirty years later, students still stayed in contact with her, sharing that she was that special teacher that had an immeasurable impact on their lives. On November 10, 2001 she married David Hansen in Wausau, WI. Donna was very active in her church and truly loved her Lord and Savior. She was always ready to witness her faith and led many Life in the Spirit seminars across the state. After her faith, her family was most important to her. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her favorite pastime was cheering on her beloved Brewers, either from the couch or in the stands. Survivors include her loving husband David Hansen of Wausau; her five children Paula (Bill) Dollard of DeForest, Angela (Jim) Hendricks of Pardeeville, David Parduhn of Onalaska, Brenda (Paul) Moser of Cross Plains, and Jason (Angela) Parduhn, of Cross Plains; her two sisters Nancy (Richard) Fisher of Lone Rock and Linda (Allan) Kershner of Rockford, IL; three step-children Colonel Kent (Darcy) Hansen of Hill AFB, Utah, Dr. Scott (Jade) Hansen, D.C. of Wausau, and Beth Hansen (Karen Wegge) of Wausau. She was affectionately known as "Grimmie" to her eighteen grandchildren: Amanda (Ryan) Kage of Wausau; Alyssa (Kyle) Frane of Edgar; Casey Hendricks of Ashton; Tristan (See) Dollard of Sun Prairie; Bryce Dollard of Sun Prairie; Courtney (Ben Ibinger), Andrew, Alex, and Callie Moser of Cross Plains; Jarrod, Xander, and Deryck Parduhn of Cross Plains; Wendi and Lindsay Hansen of Denver, CO; and Aaron, Tyler, Nick, and Alex Hansen of Wausau. She is also survived by her six great-grandchildren: Reed, Grace, and Claire Kage of Wausau; Kaiden and Kooper Frane of Edgar; and Renee Dollard of Sun Prairie. Her loving dog, Sasha, survives her also. She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil McBain and Marian Rentz. Donna wanted to thank her sisters and many other relatives and friends for their support over the years. Her family wishes to thank Agrace Hospice Care for their support and care during her final days.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Richland Center, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
