Darlene LaVon Jennings Young, 85, of Tatum, passed away April 25, 2017, in Longview. She was born on December 28, 1931, in Marshall to George Benjamin and Glatha Fay Martin Jennings. Mrs. Young married Chester Arnold “Buddy” Young in 1947. She volunteered at the Samaritan House in Tatum and worked as a columnist for the Trammel Trace Newspaper. Mrs. Young was very active in the Heritage House Lunch group. She was an accomplished artist and enjoyed oil painting. She was a loving Christian mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Mrs. Young was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Roy Thomas Young and her brothers, Charles Bennie Jennings and Jimmy Eugene Jennings.
