Roger Keith Spence, 72 of Perry, died on April 24, 2017 at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky. He was born on September 16, 1944 in Morgantown, WVa to the late Homer and Thyra (Castle) Spence.
Roger served in the Army with the 101st Airborne Division and retired from Lubrizol in Painesville. He was a member of Temple Lodge #28 F&AM Past Master, Painesville Chapter Royal Arch Masons where he served as High Priest, Painesville Council Royal and Select Masons and was Ill. Master, Eagle Commandery #29 Past Commander, Valley of Cleveland Scottish Rite, and Police Masonic Fellowcraft Club. He was also a member of Knight of the York Cross of Honor. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Survivors are his son, Roger J. Spence; special friend, Dottie Fargo; sister, Carol Miller; Aunt Joy and Uncle Charles Camaski; many cousins and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Louanne Jewett, Ralph Spence, and Jerry Spence.
Visitation will be on Friday, April 28, 2017 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. with a Masonic Service at 8 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home, 368 Mentor Ave., (opposite Lake Erie College) Painesville, Ohio 44077. Funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Perry Cemetery with military honors.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Lake County Masonic Building Company, 88 N. St. Clair St., Painesville, Ohio 44077.
