Mrs. Christine Olson, 88. of Wataga, who was born in the Bishop Hill community. died October 6 in Illinois Research hospital at Galesburg. One of five children of Jonas and Johanna Bjork Elblom, she was born March 23, 1875, on a farm southeast of Bishop Hill and spent her early life in that community. She was united in marriage with Eric A. Olson at Cambridge April 18, 1906, and he preceded her in death in March 1944.
Mrs. Olson was a resident of Wataga since 1920. Her sister, Mrs. Jennie Forse of Galva, died last December 30. Three brothers and a half- sister al so preceded her.
Survivors include four daughters: Mrs. Vance Baker, of Joliet; Charlotte Olson of Wataga; Mrs. Tom A. Craig of Houston, Texas, and Mrs. O. N. Riley, of Wataga; one son, Everett, of Wataga; one step-daughter, Mrs. Roy B. Clague, of Galesburg; one step-son, Tom Olson, of Oneida, and six grandchildren.
She was a member of Faith Lutheran church in Wataga. Interment was in Bishop Hill cemetery following services at the Kimber & West Chapel in Galesburg.
