Gary Van Blaricum, 82, of Camby, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2017 with his loving family by his side. He was born to George Van Blaricum and Martha (Greene) Benge on April 2, 1935 in Indianapolis.

He honorably served in the United States Air Force.

He married Peggy (Jenkins) Van Blaricum on April 13, 1956.

He was a Building Maintenance Engineer for American United Life for 20 years, retiring in 1997. He was a member of Lifeline Baptist Church. He enjoyed working and especially loved spending time with his family. He lived in Camby for 50 years.

He is survived by his lovely wife of 61 years, Peggy Van Blaricum of Camby; a loving son, Jerry (Teresa) Van Blaricum of Martinsville; a loving daughter, Sheri (Eddie) Hunter of Camby; four wonderful grandchildren, Jerry Jr. and Jesse Van Blaricum, Adam and Trenton Hunter; a brother, George Van Blaricum; seven sisters, Flora Henderson, Ella Jean Caparo, Betty Hutto, Terry Van Blaricum, Diane Johnson, Alice Salsman and Mary Van Blaricum.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Delores Lowe; two brothers, Richard and Kenny Van Blaricum.

Family and friends may gather to pay their respects from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 27 and 10-11 a.m. on Friday, April 28 in Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Pastor Tim Lindsey will officiate Gary's celebration of life service at 11 a.m. on Friday in the funeral home.

Gary will be laid to rest in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Martinsville.
