Our beloved mother, Rebecca Brough Hilton, was reunited with her husband, Clesse, when she passed away peacefully at home in Kaysville, Utah on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at age 87. She consistently maintained a positive, optimistic attitude in spite of years of declining health and increasing physical limitations.

Becky was born at home in Kaysville to Benjamin Orlo and Doritt Harvey Brough on October 11, 1929, the fourth of nine children. She grew up in a large and loving family and worked on the family farm and in her father's feed business. She played the violin and piano, which was a blessing to her and those around her.

Becky graduated from Davis High School in 1947. She attended Utah State University and the University of Utah, ultimately graduating from BYU with a degree in Elementary Education.

She served in the LDS Great Lakes Mission. A year after returning home, on June 8th 1954, she married Clesse Snow Hilton, a fellow Great Lakes missionary, in Frankfurt Germany, where he was stationed with the U.S. Army. They were sealed in the Salt Lake temple when they returned.

Becky taught elementary school for several years in Provo and in Davis County. She enjoyed inspiring her students to excel in school and in life. She practiced the principles of hard work and provident living like her pioneer ancestors. She served faithfully in many church callings and dedicated her life and energies to serving God, her family and others.

After retirement, Becky and Clesse served together in the Manchester, England mission, much of which was spent in Wales. All who knew Becky were blessed by her valiant testimony of the Savior and His restored church and her example of selfless service. She was a wonderful wife, mother, neighbor, teacher, and friend. She lived a life of selfless service, raising six children and sending all of them on missions and through college.

Becky is survived by her children Susan (Richard) Johnston of Kaysville, Alan (Beth) Hilton of Fruit Heights, David Hilton of Orem, Eileen Hilton of Orem, Todd (Pam) Hilton of Bountiful, and Monte (Lisa) Hilton of Kaysville, as well as 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings James Brough and Vilate McDonald. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clesse, her parents, her sisters Pearl Goodson, Mary Brough, Eleanor Huff and Evelyn Brough, her brothers BenOrlo and Grant Harvey Brough, and her infant daughter, Vivian.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Kaysville 13th Ward Chapel, 875 E. 200 N., Kaysville. Friends may visit with family Friday, April 28 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 N. Main, Kaysville, and Saturday, April 29 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
