Glenna Esther Sherman Beck, 85, of Grand Rapids, Minn., and formerly of Pengilly, Minn., died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007, the day after her 85th birthday, in St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth, Minn. Glenna was born on Feb. 6, 1922 in Bertha, Minn., to August and Alvina (Drawbert) Huelsnitz. On Feb. 13, 1940, Glenna married Lavern Sherman. She enjoyed gardening, flower arranging, scrabble and needlework. Glenna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lavern Sherman in 1968; husband, George Beck in 1986; five sisters; four brothers; and granddaughter, Tracy Apitz. Survived by son, Allan (Lavonne) Sherman of Pengilly, Minn.; daughters, Sylvia (Robert) Mattson of Hoyt Lakes, Minn., Virginia (Rodger) Trumble of Grand Rapids, Minn., Sandra (Herbert) Warmbold of Pengilly, Minn., Lucille (Louis) Katzenberger of Sterling, Alaska; step-daughters, Kathleen (Boris) Elich of Marble, Minn., Diana (Don) Wenino of Palmdale, Calif., Barbara Schaumburg of Bloomington, Minn., step-sons, Charles (Theresa) Beck of Lino Lakes, Minn., Robert (Bette) Beck of Mesa, Ariz.; sister, Alverna Gossell of Bertha, Minn.; 26 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. VISITATION:5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12, in Rowe Funeral Home, Grand Rapids, Minn., and continuing one hour prior to the 11 a.m. Funeral Service Tuesday, Feb. 13, in First Evangelical Lutheran Church, LC-MS, Grand Rapids, Minn. Rev. Michael L. Eckert officiating. Burial will be held at Nashwauk Cemetery, Nashwauk, Minn. Arrangements are by the Rowe Funeral Home, Grand Rapids, Minn.
