Wilma Jean Rowe, 99, Liberty, stepped into everlasting life at 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2017, at Whitewater Commons Healthcare in Liberty. She was born on May 13, 1917, in Tipton to Frank Squire and Gladys Smith.

Wilma graduated from Jefferson Center High School. She married Charles Albert Rowe and lived her life taking care of her family. Both of them enjoyed gardening and sharing the bountiful produce and flowers with family, friends, and their special core of neighbors who were like family to them. Wilma was also a wonderful cook and enjoyed reading. She loved animals, too, and took in many strays when necessary and fed the wildlife.

She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Karen (Jack) Soper, Liberty; grandson, Scott (Ann) Soper, Harlem, Georgia; and many nieces and nephews. She was blessed to have four special caregivers during the last year of her life, whom she called "the girls."

Her husband, Charles, preceded her in death in August of 1992.

The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, 2017, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN. Wilma's funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. with Pastor Colleen Harden officiating. A private burial will be at Estates of Serenity.
