Sara N. (Free) Clifton, 35, of Monmouth, IL died at 4:48 am, Monday, April 24, 2017 at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL.
She was born on July 25, 1981 in Monmouth, IL, the daughter of Mark Dudley and Mary Kay (Tracy) Free. Sara was raised and educated in Little York and attended Yorkwood High School.
Sara married Jordan Britton in Monmouth, IL in 2006. She later married Eric R. Clifton on October 31, 2016 in Monmouth, he survives.
Sara worked as a graphic designer for the City Press in Monmouth. She was also a homemaker and loved taking care of her children. Sara was very artistic, her passion was graphic arts, and she enjoyed photography. She was loved very much by her family and friends. Sara was a member of the Belmont United Methodist Church.
Surviving Sara is her husband, Eric Clifton of Monmouth, three children; Collin R. Britton, Randell J. Clifton, Nadia Grace Clifton, her step children; Byron Stodgel, Natalie Clifton, and her parents; Mark Free and Mary Kay (David) Ebner of Monmouth. Also surviving is her half-sister, Kirsti Marie Ebner; half- brother, D.J. Ebner both of Smithville, TX, paternal grandparents; Jim and Gladys Free of Little York, IL, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Jenny Free and maternal grandparents Oscar L. and Mary Lou Tracy.
Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 29, 2017 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service; a private family burial will be in Belmont Cemetery at a later date. Memorials can be made to the Sara (Free) Clifton Family Memorial Fund.
