Bob was born the son of Arthur and Pearl (Jones) Rexstrew on December 5, 1928 at Otter Lake (Alger County) Michigan. He was a lifetime resident of Munising.
Bob attended the Munising Public Schools; he was employed at the Munising Wooden Ware Company and Cox's Garage. He was the coordinator of Alger County Search and Rescue, and coordinator for Emergency Services in Alger County, he was currently the manager of Munising (Hanley) Airport, and was a serving Commissioner on the Munising City Council. Bob loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.
He is survived by three sons: Robert of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan; Ken of Munising; and Michael of Marquette; three daughters, Kathy Rexstrew of Marquette; Laurie (Mike) Beauchine and Cheryl Rexstrew of Munising; two sisters, Elizabeth Peale of Gold Beach, Oregon, and Marion (Bob) Coryell of Munising; three grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Ila Watson and Leona Rexstrew, and one brother, Alton Rexstrew.
NO SERVICES SCHEDULED, although friends and family were invited to call at the Bowerman Funeral Home from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. for visitation on Tuesday, December 5, 2000. Honorary Escorts were: Lee Coryell, Ken McPherson, Chuck Sanville, Charles Johnson and Bob Coryell.
