Debra, 57, of Riverdale, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing. She was born in Rock Hill, South Carolina the daughter of Fred and Bonnie (Voltz) Bennett.
On June 1, 1990 she married Tim Carter in Riverdale. Debra worked as a Nurse’s Aide at Wilcox Nursing Home and Mid-Michigan Medical Center-Gratiot, retiring after 16 and a half years.
She was a very hard worker and enjoyed swimming and flowers. Debra loved camping and telling tales around the bonfire.
Debra is survived by her husband of 26 years, Tim; a son, Josh (Carly) Carter; a daughter, Detera Carll; grandchildren, Heaven, Braxton, Alicia; her mother, Bonnie (Dick) Shaver; and her mother-in-law, Shirley Carter.
She was preceded in death by her son, Cody Carter; her father, Fred Bennett; and a brother, Fred Bennett.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Lux and Schnepp Funeral Home, Riverdale with Pastor John Robinson officiating. Interment followed in Sibley Cemetery.
