Gary M. Fletcher, 65, passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Augusta Health after battling liver cancer. Gary moved to Waynesboro a little over a year ago from Hurricane, WV to be in the town where he attended high school at Fishburne Military School. Born in Washington, DC, Gary grew up in Martinsburg, WV. After high school he attended Shepherd University, graduating in 1976 with a BS in Accounting/Finance. He worked for the Small Business Administration from 1977 to 1980 and then the US Department of Housing & Urban Development in Charleston, WV from 1980 to 2006 when he retired.
Gary was preceded in death by his beloved wife Bonnie in 2011, his brother, David Fletcher in 2014, and his parents.
Survivors include his sister Jan Coffinberger and her husband Rick of Reston, VA and their children Joey and Ben.
Services will be held at McDow Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 1 p.m., followed by a celebration of life on Friday evening by his fellow alumni from Fishburne Military School. Gary will be buried with his wife in Red House, WV. His beloved dogs Mai and Macho will greatly miss him.
