HODGES — Eddie "Ed" Butler, 79, of 3718 Cokesbury Road, husband of Jessie Pearl Fisher Butler, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Cokesbury, he was the son of the late Matthew Butler and Laura Bell Butler- Butler.
He was a member of Macedonia CME Church in Hodges.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Jessie of the home; one son, Floyd Wilson of Greenwood; one daughter, Joyce (Richard) Butler-Warren of the Promised Land Community; three brothers, Mac (Mary) Butler and James (Joan) Butler, both of Greenwood and John Butler of Pelzer; two sisters, Laura (Rev. Otis) Cunningham of Plum Branch and Bettye (James) Johnson of Cokesbury; eight grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Services are 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at Macedonia CME Church, conducted by Rev. Otis Cunningham.
Burial will follow in the Evening Star Cemetery.
The family is at the home and at the home of a sister, Bettye (James) Johnson, 3411 Ridge Road in Cokesbury.
Arrangements are being handled by Robinson & Son Mortuary, Inc.
