She graduated from Bradley Bourbonnais Community High School and continued on to receive an Associate Degree from Kankakee Community College. She was attending Olivet Nazarene University and was about to start the nursing program.
Ashley was the Vice President of the AshleyCan Pediatric Cancer Foundation, which was created in her name to raise money and awareness for research and children battling cancer.
She was a brave warrior herself, battling cancer four times. Her strong will to live, her 'never give up' attitude, and her faith in God inspired many, including people that have never met her.
Ashley's memory will live on, as her family and friends continue her legacy of fighting for children battling cancer, through the AshleyCan Pediatric Cancer Foundation.
Ashley was the loving daughter of Michael and Maureen (Hensley) Montgomery; sister of Michael (Aubrey) and Jake Montgomery; adored niece of Patrick and Dawn Hensley, Tim and Julie (Hensley) Blake, John and Cindy (Montgomery) Beachum, Jeff Montgomery, Joseph Montgomery, Timothy Montgomery, Wanda Hensley, Denise Dylkiewicz Laura and Mark Zessin; cousin to Joshua, Donald, Cara, Johnny (Liz), Kyle (Jessica), Luke, Brooke, Connor, Ashley, Karli, Jen, Tim, Kevin, Preston, Catie, and Joseph; her cat Rascal and dogs Izzy and Leo; and many more family and friends.
Ashley was preceded in death by her grandparents Gene and Nell Montgomery, Sharon and Gerald Zelisko, and John Hensley.
