Beverly J. Babin, 64, of Warwick, director of support services at Rhode Island Hospital, retiring in 1994, died Wednesday, September 15, 1999, at Rhode Island Hospital.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Louis T. Babin, Sr. and Florence E. (Brunt) Babin, she was a resident of Warwick for 30 years.

She began working at Rhode Island Hospital in 1951, where she held various positions in the nursing department. She was supervisor, senior supervisor and manager of the unit-service department from 1967 to 1988. She then became director of support services and, later, director of support services and central transport.

She was a member of Rhode Island Association of Health Care Central Service Personnel, serving as treasurer; the Rhode Island Hospital Guild, where she was the treasurer and chair of its ways and means committee; the Hospital Association of Rhode Island; and the Adopt-A-School/Big Sister program.

She leaves a brother, six nieces and nephews and several grandnieces and grandnephews. She was the sister of the late Louis T. Babin, Jr., Lorraine M. Hartnett and Jacqueline E. Kelly.

Entombment will be in Our Risen Christ Mausoleum, St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston, RI.
