Georgetown - Rosamond E. (Preston) Wilcox, age 96, died Monday December 5,
2016 at Holy Family Hospital in Haverhill. She was the wife of the late Fernley E. Wilcox. She was born in Salem to the late Abbott M. and Mary E. (Gregory) Preston.
Mrs. Wilcox graduated from Salem Teacher’s College in 1941. She organized and taught kindergarten before teaching first grade for the Town of Groveland for twenty years.
She enjoyed to traveling and hers years at Pine River Pond.
She is survived by a son Paul G. Wilcox and his wife Marie of NH; two daughters, Prudence Thresher and her husband David of NH, Elaine Tremblay and her husband Steven of FL, two sisters, Prudence Fleck of Gloucester, Pauline Wicky of Rockport, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son Richard C. Wilcox, two sisters, Priscilla Scanzani and Patricia Stiles.
Her funeral service will be held at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, Monday, December 12, 2016 at 12 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours on Sunday December 11, 2016 from 1 to 4 p.m. Burial will be in Central Cemetery. Contributions may be made in her memory to the charity of ones choice.
