Wren E. Gaines

Wren E. Gaines, 72, died Saturday at a Portland hospital.

A resident of 1000 SW Plum Dr., Mr. Gaines was a retired building superintendent at the University of Oregon Medical School. He retired in 1954 after 40 years service and at that time was honored by the faculty of the medical school.

Mr. Plum [sic] was born in Linn County and had lived in Portland for the past 56 years.

He is survived by the widow, Lula; one daughter, Barbara Zimmerman, Alamo, Calif.; sons Robert R. and Richard E. Gaines, Portland; his mother, Mrs. Anna Gaines; a sister, Hazel Akre and a brother Forest [sic] W. Gaines, all of Portland.

Funeral will be Tuesday at 11 am. from Riverview Abbey Mausoleum Chapel with arrangements by Colonial Mortuary. Interment will be in Riverview Abbey.

The family suggests that remembrances be in the form of contributions to the University of Oregon Medical School heart fund.
