Stephanie Ann Torres-Ruiz, 24, of Austin, formally of Taylor, passed away Friday, Sept. 21, 2012.
She was born on July 4, 1988, in Taylor, to Raul Ruiz and Melissa (Torres) Arredondo.
Stephanie was a fun loving person to be around and will be missed by all her family and friends.
She is survived by her mother and step-father, Melissa and David Arredondo; her father, Raul Ruiz, Jr.; her husband, whom she loved dearly, Adrian Hernandez; her two step-daughters, Laliana and Adriana Hernandez; maternal grandparents, Lorenzo and Minnie Torres, known affectionately as her "Ma and Daddy;" paternal grandparents, Susie Leverett, Valentina and Joe Arredondo; her three sisters, Ashley Torres-Garza and husband Andy, Amber Ruiz and husband Jose Olvera, and Kryscelda Olivarez and husband Chris Martinez; her two brothers, Christopher Ruiz and Ray Anthony Arredondo; her special niece who called her mama, Jocelynn; 11 nieces and nephews whom she adored; three uncles and an aunt whom she considered her siblings, Julie, David, Miguel, and Jonathan; and her dear friend, whom she regarded as a special person in her life, Fernando Ortiz.
The family will receive guests at the Elgin Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 25, and will pray the Holy rosary at 7 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted at Jerusalem Pentecostal Church of Taylor at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 26, with Pastor Daniel Alderete officiating. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery in Taylor.
Honoring her as pallbearers are Eddie Silva, Jose Olvera, Andy Garza, Sergio Mejia, Paul Contreras and Chris Martinez. Serving as honorary pallbearers are David Jeffery Torres and Juan Luna "Paws."
