Irene Alice Baker
(April 24, 1944 - April 22, 2017)

Irene Alice Baker passed away peacefully April 22, 2017, with her son by her side. She was born to Jennie Frost Albrecht and Elmer Albrecht on April 24, 1944, Soda Springs, Idaho. She married Vick Baker they were later divorced. Irene was later blessed with her son Dustin Baker.

Irene graduated from Soda Springs High School. She lived in Pocatello, Idaho where she was employed by Pebble Ski Resort and later for J R Simplot Company. She moved to Portland, Oregon where she work different jobs and finally found here dream job with Techtronics. There she became a sales representative and later a supervisor before she retired. She moved back to Soda Springs the summer of 2010 the place she called home.

While living here in Soda Springs, she worked for the Soda Springs School District. She had a special quality within herself to work with the children with special needs and those who were just struggling with whatever problems they may have had at the time. The children loved her as much as she loved them. No one will forget her glowing face with a contagious smile.

Irene was an active member of the Soda Springs Presbyterian Church and served as a deacon. She was active in bible study and doing who deacon duties. She served on the Sherwood, Oregon advisory board to the city council for three years. She was a member of the Sherwood Rebekah Lodge #212 in Sherwood, Oregon.

There wasn’t anything she didn’t like except green beans and watermelon. She loved all types of music, (50 & 60’s rock and roll) . Her favorite music artists were Elvis Presley and Willy Nelson. She enjoyed going to the movies and concerts, dancing, and especially loved family gatherings. She was always the hit of the party. She loved to travel. No matter where she was at she always found the beauty of the nature and people around her. She loved to work in her flower garden and spending time on the Oregon coast. She enjoyed going to see the Tetons and anything to do with the outdoors. She enjoyed life to the fullest.

She is survived by her son Dustin Baker, her very close cousin Veda Mascarenas and many cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Services will be held Friday, April 28 at noon at the Soda Springs Presbyterian Church. A visitation will be held 10:30 to 12:00 prior to service. Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery.

We will miss your humor and funny comments but know that you are in a better place now.
