Clyde - Blake Yvonne Hemingway Carter, 24, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Haywood Regional Medical Center.

A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was a daughter of John Michael Hemingway and Kimberly Yvonne Hoffman.

Blake was a member of Clyde Wesleyan Church where she was a children's Sunday school teacher. Her loves included her church, cooking, modeling and especially her time with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of five years, Brian Keith Carter; step-father, Steve Hoffman of Clyde; step-mother, Julah Hemingway of Clyde; maternal grandparents, Estol and Carolyn Hawkins Henderson of Clyde; paternal grandfather, Gerald Hemingway and the late Patricia Jefferson Hemingway of Clyde; father and mother-in-law, Isaac "Bo" and Kay Carter of Clyde; brother-in-law and his wife, Brandon and Tara Carter of Waynesville; Her "two nanny" Brenda Mease and her "Tuntal" the late Carroll Mease, who passed in 2015; one brother, Brandon Hemingway of Clyde; one nephew Deegan Carter; a dear friend Emily Lawrence; niece Chloe Lawrence; her faithful Siberian Husky, "Sasha Marie"; and her kitty, "Gucci".

A funeral service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Eddie Clayton officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
