Harold worked as a machinist at Hartman Electric and retired from Therm-O-Disc where he was a tool and die maker. He was a handyman at heart. Harold was an expert craftsman and wood carver and especially enjoyed making toys and remodeling homes. His creativity was not limited to woodworking, he also enjoyed drawing and created a wonderful charcoal drawing of Napoleon. Harold was a perfectionist and restored a 1930 Hupmobile to its original quality and won many awards for his 16 year long effort in creating this masterpiece. It was a favorite activity for Harold, Shirley, and their son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Maureen, to attend car shows in the area every year, driving the Hupmobile along the roads and attracting much deserved attention.
Harold enjoyed his nightly ritual of ice cream and peanuts with his wife, Shirley and faithful canine companion, Daisy. Harold leaves a legacy of creativity, professionalism, and the joy of love shared with family and friends for all to treasure.
He is survived by two sons, Terry (Virginia) Dinger of Aliquippa, PA, and Greg (Maureen) Dinger of Mansfield; two grandchildren, Christopher (Samantha) Dinger and Kitty Bottorf; two great-grandchildren, Jacqueline Barney and Zachary Barney; two brothers, Robert (Sylvia) Dinger and Russell (Jeanie) Dinger, both of Mansfield; two sisters, Alice Wilburn of Seattle, WA, and Ruth (Gene) Arnold of Shelby; and many nieces and nephews.
