Tina Louise Miller, age 51, went home to be with the Lord on March 31, 2017, after a valiant fight against cancer. Tina was born on Oct. 19, 1965, to her parents, Charles and Carole McPherson, in Orange, California. Tina was a resident of California for 41 years, and a resident of Yucca Valley for 22 years. Tina graduated from Yucca Valley High School in 1983.

In 1984, Tina married Terry Kimball and they had two beautiful daughters, Valerie Kimball and Kristine Kimball. Terry was in the Marine Corps and they moved to different bases around the country, including Okinawa, Japan.

Tina and her two daughters moved back to Yucca Valley in 1995, where she continued her career in civil service at the Twentynine Palms Marine Corps base. Tina worked for the Business Performance Office (known today as Performance and Innovation) as a management analyst.

Tina had an insatiable thirst for knowledge, and between work and raising her daughters as a single mom, she attended various night schools and the Executive MBA Program at Capella University to attain her master’s degree.

Her hobbies included hiking, camping trips with her girls, home improvement projects, traveling, running in marathons and being involved in all her girl’s school functions, soccer games, and social activities. Tina was an avid seamstress, making the majority of her daughters’ outfits and costumes.

Tina married Mark Miller in May 2006. They immediately began a life together chasing every adventure possible. Together with Valerie and Kristine, they spent birthdays, holidays and special events making decorations and displays for all types of social parties for family and friends. Weekends included her usual hobby interests, with some motorcycle riding, car racing at the drag strip or autocross track, and even the occasional sky-diving with her daughter, Valerie.

Tina was preceded in death by her younger brother, Daniel Lee McPherson. She is survived by her husband, Mark Miller, of Yucca Valley; her daughters, Valerie Kimball and Kristine Kimball, of Orange County; her father, Charles McPherson, and his wife, Susie, of Golden Valley, Arizona; her mother, Carole Tumbleson, and her husband, Jim, of Yucca Valley; her brother, Patrick McPherson, and his wife, Tina, of Yucca Valley, and their seven children.

Tina was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be dearly missed.

Tina’s celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday April 29, at Valley Community Chapel in Yucca Valley, with Pastor Tom Aversa presiding.
