Sandra Bare Church passed away on April 18, 2016 in Wilmington, NC.
Sandra was born in Jefferson, NC. She was a graduate of Appalachian State University and a loyal ASU football fan attending all home games until her illness prevented it.
Fiercely independent, she had several careers in her lifetime including a loan officer at Mountain Farm Credit in Jefferson, NC and in finance at Semiconductor Research Corporation in RTP, NC. Her favorite by far was owner/operator of Geno’s restaurant.
She knew nothing about the restaurant business but fearlessly jumped in with both feet. She was happiest when she was in the kitchen at Geno’s and at the end of the night when she would spend time with her patrons.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Bruce and Geraldine Bare and her brother Bob Bare.
The family will receive visitors at Boone funeral home on Saturday, April 29 at 10:00 am. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 am.
